Overview of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative medical treatment that utilizes the body’s own healing mechanisms to promote tissue repair and regeneration. Platelets contain various growth factors and proteins that play a crucial role in the body’s natural healing process. By concentrating these platelets and injecting them into a specific area, it is believed that PRP therapy can promote tissue repair, stimulate the production of collagen, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing.

PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood and contains a concentrated amount of platelets, growth factors, and other bioactive proteins. When injected into damaged or injured tissues, PRP stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, including cell proliferation, angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels), and tissue remodeling.

In dermatology and aesthetic medicine, PRP is used for various purposes, including skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and wound healing. It can improve skin texture, stimulate collagen production, and promote hair growth in conditions like androgenetic alopecia.
