All About Sofwave
What is it? The Sofwave device is one of the only devices on the market that is FDA-approved for “lifting”.
This medical device works by utilizing “SUPERB” technology. This stands for synchronous ultrasound parallel beam technology. The ultrasound waves penetrate 1.5 mm into your skin where 80-90% of your collagen is found. Once in the dermis, the heat creates a thermal impact zone that causes the breakdown or degradation of your collagen and elastin. Over time an inflammatory response is mounted to help repair and build healthier and stronger collagen and elastin–thus lifting your tissue.
Sofwave has been approved for lifting the eyebrows, submental (jawline), and neck as well as the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles. Even more excitingly it has recently gotten an indication for cellulite treatment.
Who is a good candidate?
As we age, we lose 1% of our collagen every year after the age of 25. This treatment is the perfect way to help to target that loss. While it is not a replacement for surgical intervention, it is a wonderful way to complement/slow down the aging process. It is also safe for all skin types! Therefore anyone experiencing the skin’s laxity could be an excellent candidate for Sofwave.
Why do we love it?!
There are many reasons to love Sofwave. One of our favorite reasons is that there is NO downtime! There are no special aftercare instructions and the skin will appear completely normal upon leaving the office. This is also ONE treatment and does not need to be done as a series. Lastly, we love the RESULTS! Our patients are getting snatched jawlines, lifted eyes, and smooth necks.
